Predavanje daje pregled najvažnijih procesa i tehnologija koji se upotrebljavaju u obradi komunalnih otpadnih voda s naglaskom na biološke procese uklanjanja organskih tvari, dušika i fosfora te načine obrade i zbrinjavanja viška mulja. Sadržava i pregled zakonskih zahtjeva u EU i RH za ispuštanje otpadnih voda.

Predavanje daje pregled modernih procesa i tehnologija koje se mogu koristiti za obradu otpadne vode kako bi se dobila obrađena vode kvalitete koja zadovoljava njezinu ponovnu upotrebu kao vode za kupanje, navodnjavanje, ljudsku potrošnju ili kao tehnološka vode.

Stable isotope ratios of elements in environmental samples contain valuable information on sources and processes which have influenced the history of the samples. In the presentation, an overview of the research area of metal stable isotope geochemistry will be given. Particularly, we will focus on the applications of stable isotope ratios in the determination of pollutant sources. This includes primarily the present-day cycling of metals and metalloids in the environment related to their roles as pollutants affecting natural ecosystems as a result of anthropogenic activities such as emissions from industrial or mining sources.

After you collected your considerable amount of samples and obtained a large number of variables for each sampling point, how can you obtain the maximum information from such a dataset? How can you summarise, in a low-dimensional space, the variance from a multivariate dataset? Even more, having a set of independent variables, how can these explain as much variance as possible in another independent set? In this short seminar, I will focus on the use and misuse of the Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and the more advanced technique of Redundancy Analysis (RDA). I will show you why you need this multivariate analysis and how to interprets the outcomes.
